If you've been following my blog you know that I had a less than satisfactory meal at a restaurant in Canmore called Chez Francois. It was such a disappointment that I was determined to visit Canmore and leave with a good taste in my mouth. On Saturday my husband and I left our apartment bright and early with the prospect of Harvest Cafe in mind. As we drove to Canmore I couldn't help but wonder if I would be left high and dry once again, but happily Harvest did not fail. If you're in Canmore looking for Harvest its a bit of a hole in the wall, but not in grungy the way you might think. It is very easy not to notice it. Located on 10th St, running parallel to Main St, it hides beside a sports consignment store and had we not planned on going to Harvest we might not have realized it was a cafe.
Depite the fact that Harvest could advertise itself a bit better, it did look really cute.
Since it is a cafe, you order at the till and they bring the food out to you. It was quiet when we first arrived but soon the tables around us were filling up. This place oozed Canmore. The menu was a wide selection of healthy, earthy, 'tree-hugger food' as my husband likes to call it. Definitely my kind of cafe.
I ordered the Grilled Chicken Panini with the side of Harvest Quinoa salad, and my husband ordered the Breakfast Panini with a side of Butternut Squash soup. In total (including a cup of coffee) our meal came to $25.00. A pretty good deal for two people to enjoy a super healthy lunch.
So if you're in Canmore and you don't want to experience a dud of a lunch, go to Harvest. They will treat you, your stomach and your wallet right.
